Spore cheats won't work?

I cant get the cheat console to work. i've tried restarting spore and the computer. ive tried pressing ctrl shift and c together, seperatley and in different orders, it just doesnt do anything! can anyone help?Spore cheats won't work?
For me, I pressed and held, in order, Ctrl, shift and then pressed C, and this big blue box opens.



Then whrn you cheat for the first time you get a medal, saying something like "congratulations, you've cheated for the first time!"Spore cheats won't work?
Stop trying to cheat. You'll never get anywhere that way.
