Cheat codes wont work on spore?

when i go to type cheat codes into SPORE (2008 for PC)

they simply do not work.



I press CTRL+ALT C and the window pops up.

I type in a code, ex addDNA and press enter.

Then exit the box. Nothing happens.



Ive tried this during play mode, pause, and creature creator.



Please tell me how to use the codes correctly! ThanksCheat codes wont work on spore?
