How do I get the spore cheat console open?

I keep reading that to enter cheats for the spore game you have to first enter CTRL+ALT+C to get the cheat console open, but it doesn't work. I tried it a million times. I'm using Windows Vista and yes I have been pressing all 3 buttons at the same time. If you can help thanks a lot.How do I get the spore cheat console open?
Don't CHEAT. Spore is too good of a game to be cheating.

Just to expand on Maleenwb's answer...

Another program is likely intercepting the Ctrl-Shift-C keystroke combination so Spore isn't getting it. My problem was also HP Health Check. Here is another link to basically the same solution:

%26gt;%26gt;Hello,

%26gt;%26gt;I also own a Compaq Presario CQ50.

%26gt;%26gt;It has Windows Vista Home Premium and I upgraded it to 4GB of RAM (I suggest you do the same, it will work wonders, trust me)

%26gt;%26gt;

%26gt;%26gt;OK, I'll tell you how to fix this problem!

%26gt;%26gt;

%26gt;%26gt;Step 1: Go to start menu.

%26gt;%26gt;Step 2: Type in 'hp health check'.

%26gt;%26gt;Step 3: Right-Click on 'HP Health Check' then select Properties.

%26gt;%26gt;Step 4: In the short-cut tab, you'll immediately notice the short-cut key to start HP Health Check is indeed 'Ctrl + Shift + C'!

%26gt;%26gt;Step 5: Change the short-cut!

%26gt;%26gt;Step 6: If you have this program as a desktop icon, repeat steps 3-5.

%26gt;%26gt;

%26gt;%26gt;When you have done that, your problem is fixed!

%26gt;%26gt;If you had Sims 2 running in the background while doing this, do not worry about restarting it, just go back to it!

%26gt;%26gt;

%26gt;%26gt;Glad I could help,

%26gt;%26gt;Leigh Kennedy

Note: On my PC, for Step #2 I had to go to Start-%26gt;Programs-%26gt;HP-%26gt;HP Health Check-%26gt;Properties instead.

Yahooooo! I am so excited now...cheat away!

From what I've read this seems to be a fairly common problem for spore players using vista. Here's a fix, hope it works.

"1- open my computer

2- search for " hp health check "

3- open properties

4- find the hot key ( Ctrl+Shift+C ) and change it to any thing

5- open spore and have happy cheating"
